1. It gives you the relative consistency and feel of milk, without any carbs!
2. Great for mixing chocolate milk, or pairing with low carb brownies, sugar free chocolate, etc.
3. Good Source of Protein!
1. It doesn't taste like milk. It tastes like Whey Protein powder (which isn't really so bad!). Has that distinct malty flavor and (unfortunately) a significant stevia aftertaste that is the one thing I still sigh about in regards to the otherwise great natural sweetener. Also slight vanilla tones like you would find in a whey protein powder, but tastes like a high quality one at least.
2. Slightly confusing mixing instructions. Despite having 3 "recipes" for "1%" "2%" and "Whole" milk, I find that even the "whole milk" amounts of cream and powdered mix have less body than regular milk.
If you have trouble mixing it (I don't reccomend using a whisk like they do, too messy.) I have found the ideal solution for mixing your milk concoction.
Get a good quality cocktail mixer. The sealable kind work best for this since you don't need to strain. weigh and measure the powder into the bottom, then heavy cream, then 3-4 ice cubes, then 6 oz of water. Close, shake vigorously for 30 seconds, open, and voila! Pour yourself a frothy, fully homogenized (no powder clumps!) pre-chilled (thank you, ice cubes) glass of low-carb milk.
Works every time. Plus a great forearm workout ;)
