Finally! A low carb bagel made right! Chewy, tasty, and it toasts up beautifully! My new favorite and the only brand I'll be ordering in the future. I bought a lot of another brand but they're in the freezer so I think I'll give them away to make room for the GOOD STUFF! As soon as I opened the box, I grabbed a package of "everything" bagels and sliced one in half, took a small nibble and was thrilled with the flavor and mouth-feel. Popped it in the toaster and pulled out some cream cheese. I didn't want to waste my smoked salmon until I was sure...so next bagel gets the "lox and cream cheese" treatment.
It amazes me that people still compare low carb products, made with mostly different ingredients, to the real thing and expect them to taste and feel identical. They don't but this product is the closest I've found yet!
I love these bagels! I just reordered some because I don't think I can do breakfast without them now that I have tried them. I ordered cinnamon and pumpkin spice last time. I preferred the pumpkin variety. I really couldn't discern the pumpkin, just a nice spice flavor. I couldn't taste the cinnamon in the cinnamon flavored ones. I am branching out and trying some other flavors this order.

I've tried most of the prepared low carb breads as well as making my own from mixes and scratch. Great Carb Bread Company's is my absolute favorite. I don't detect a single off flavor. Low carb bread tends to suffer from a spongy texture. While this bread is still a tad chewy - this is low carb after all - I don't find it spongy. This bread toasts beautifully and, like wheat white bread, there aren't any strong flavors that interfere with sandwich toppings. I've made extremely satisfying grilled cheese and french toast. So far I've only tried the plain variety. I've got 2 loaves in the freezer as I write this. I plan to order rye for patty melts and I hope Netrition will start to carry the cinnamon bread flavor. Other brands of low carb bread is good but not quite as good as Great Low Carb Bread Company in my opinion.
I am a T2 diabetic and I have tried other "1g net carb" breads before. For me at least they were never close. This one is. With two slices I get only a 12 - 14 point increase in BG, not 60 or 80. The taste is excellent, the price, high. I am more than happy to pay the price considering the importance I put on normalizing blood glucose. Thank you for a 'Great Low Carb Bread', so to speak...
Love everything from GLCBC. I've been doing LC for almost 5 years and I never thought a bread product would come out that was actually low carb and doesn't effect my weight loss. Well here is it and I'm so thankful. These are wonderful along with all the other products from this company. Will be buying again for sure.

Okay, folks, this is the one!. First, forget the spongey, cardboard texture and taste, or the very thin slices of others you may have tried - this is robust BREAD! I got my first order tonight, and tried a little of each item I ordered: Pumpernickel Bagels: toasts well, good untoasted, dark but with a very mild pumpernickel flavor; rye bread: nice thickness to the slices to hold up well to a sandwich, great rye flavor that is enhanced if you toast it. I'm thinking it will be amazing with tuna salad; onion pockets - okay, these are not really pockets, unless you slice them and hollow them out. They are the size of a small hoagie, but dense. They have the texture that is somewhat a combination of bread and a real boiled New York Bagel. Haven't tried toasting one, but bet they will make a great sandwich for hot meats or a steak and cheese. Mild onion flavor, but they have onion bits everywhere! I am placing my second order tonight!
This is the best low carb bread I have ever had. Just a little on the chewy side; but if you toast it, you cannot tell the difference between it and regular bread to me. No aftertaste that I can taste. Fixed a BLT and it was so good! Ditto for a beef brisket w/sauteed onions and peppers. Just too good! The only thing wrong with this bread is the price. But, for someone who had not had real bread in years, it was very good. Thank you, Netrition, for having this and all the variations. Your shipping rocks! Every package is a work of art! Bread got here just fine and kept for a week in the fridge. Had to keep myself from eating 3 or 4 slices after the initial taste test. Very good or I thought it was. Thanks, Netrition!!!
I'm giving these 4 stars, but only relative to other low-carb crackers. If I were comparing them to regular crackers I'd give them one star. I usually loathe low-carb crackers. They range from just-barely-tolerable to torturous-to-eat. This thick cracker is actually palatable if you put something tasty on top of it. It has almost no flavor of its own. It seems a little stale. Too dry. But it does have that magical carb feeling to it that makes you feel less deprived. It has that hard, crumbly quality that carbs tend to have. That's about as good as it gets with low-carb crackers. I'll order them again. I like it when something innocuous crunches underneath my toppings, ya know?
Hi from sunny Australia... these rolls are great!! I love the onion ones too but these are plain so go with raspberry jam & cream.. yum yum equally as nice with vegemite 'n cheese or any other sweet or savoury topping or filling! These will be a staple in my freezer.
I'd like to write poetry about these hamburger buns but I'll spare you the agony of reading it. These hamburger buns are way better than any store-bought product you'll find in the supermarket. They're more like dense and glossy bakery rolls, flavorful, slightly chewy, and perfect for burgers and almost any other kind of sandwich you can think of. AND ONLY TWO CARBS EACH! As a diabetic who has to keep close track of my carbohydrates, I can eat one or two of these buns with my meal and there's no impact on my blood glucose whatsoever. This must be heaven.
Been using these buns and hope there really 2 net carbs( independent companies can say anything. They do taste good and will hold the topping well. Varies from batch to batch though. I've gotten good ones and ones that taste like cotton.
Being on a low carb diet, I have been craving a hamburger on a bun. While these buns are not exactly like regular hamburger buns, they are close. For me they have a chewy texture more like a bagel. They don't have any weird textures or aftertastes and are neutral taste wise. Overall, a fantastic replacement for regular hamburger buns that I can eat without jacking up my blood glucose as a diabetic and great for anyone on a low carb diet.
I tried several other GLCB Co. products before to make sure I really liked them, and I liked them enough to try the hamburger buns. I'm really glad I tried them! They are great, and I have a new "go-to" meal when I want a super quick, delicious, and satisfying Low Carb, High Fiber meal: one pre-grilled beef & cheese Ballpark ZERO carb patty (nuked for 65 seconds) with all the fixin's on a *lightly toasted* GLCB hamburger bun!
It is SO good! I no longer feel deprived of a real hamburger, bun and all! And it's just as good as the fast food joints. We can have all the mayo, mustard, BBQ sauce (think Guy's SF 1 net carb BBQ sauce - YUM!!), OR even some salad dressings we can have (like blue cheese w/bacon), plus an optional slice of 0 NC cheese, lettuce, slice of tomato, sliver of onion, sliced avocado, or fry up some mushrooms, etc. Now, try and wrap your mouth around that monster!
The bun itself isn't huge, but it's big enough, and a frozen Ballpark brand 0 NC patty is just the right size on this bun. Nice dense texture, and each bun has 14 FIBER!! And only 2 NC! What's not to like?
I reviewed the everything bagels and wanted to review these buns also. Very good taste and no blood sugar spike. This year with the Thanksgiving leftovers, I made real stuffing once again!! I toasted a hot dog bun let it dry, chopped it up, then added it to the usual stuffing ingredients, little chicken broth, an egg and baked it. It was so yummy!!
I've been almost 2 years without any bread product due to diabetes. I am so happy to be able to have bread again!!
Taste and texture is decent, and it passed my "glucose meter test" (little to no impact on my blood sugar), so I have no complaints. I think I prefer using these as "hoagie rolls" instead of hot dog buns -- when I popped my favorite Costco chicken sausage in one, my main reaction was "hmm...maybe I don't miss hot dog buns as much as I thought I did." But, a good product! I will definitely be trying more Great Low Carb Bread Company products.
Just received my first bag of these. I ate one with some butter to see how it tasted before I made my first chili dog. It's a little chewy, but no after taste that I could detect. Actually tasted very good! I had craved chili dogs with onions and slaw so long. Being diabetic I just cannot eat all the bread. So, most of mine were cut up in a bowl. Now with only 2 carbs per bun, I can really fix and eat a real chili dog. I am sure with the hot dog, chili, cheese, onions, and slaw; I probably won't be able to taste the bun. But, it tastes pretty good just by itself. I'm going to try their hamburger buns and bread too. Thanks Netrition for carrying these! Your prices are great! Shipping is wonderful! Everything comes packaged so well. I can't believe how I ever made it before this site. ;o)
I love these convenient and tasty hot dog buns! I take them directly from the freezer, pop them into the microwave for 15-20 seconds to slightly defrost them, slice with a serrated bread knife, toast them in the broiler or toaster oven, back side first, and then slather with butter, mayo, mustard, SF pickle relish, whatever your favorite or "whim du jour" is. They come out crisp and golden brown with a nice crunch texture and bite to them, a really scrumptious mouth feel, just like toast. Just be careful when broiling. It only takes a few seconds, and you do NOT want to waste these beauties by burning them.
Then nuke a Polish Sausage or hot dog for a minute or two (depending on your meat of choice), pop that into your waiting toasty bun, throw a pickle on the plate, maybe some coleslaw, and voila! A great meal for a hot summer day or anytime for a quicky, "feed me NOW!" type of meal. Wonderful! This is one of my favorite meals, and these hot dog buns are an important part of it.
Finally I can enjoy a good hotdog on a real hotdog bun without all the high carbs ! Was tired of using the low carb wraps I bought at the store. Now I can throw a dog on the bbq and have the real great taste of a honest to goodness hotdog bun. Literally, I believe you have saved my life. The hamburg buns are great as we'll! Thanks again!
I've only tried the cinnamon ones so far, but these are amazing! I can't believe you can get a FULL SIZE bagel for such a low number of calories. And they actually taste good! These are a must-have for bagel lovers!

I don't know what these other folks are eating and complaining about, but as for me, the GLCB bagels are YUMMY!! Right out of the toaster with a smear of whipped cream cheese...!! I was only able to get the Pumpkin, Cinnamon, and Everything on my last order, but each was truly delicious. I pop mine directly from the freezer into the microwave for about a minute, slice them carefully in half with a serrated bread knife, then toast and devour them with either the cream cheese or just butter and SF jam. (Try the Polander with Fiber brand of jam sold here on Netrition. Wonderful!!) After the toasting, the outside is golden brown and pleasantly crispy while the inside is nice and chewy and "bready", a sensation I sometimes truly miss on Atkins.
Perhaps no one tried them toasted yet. It's the only reason I can think of not to like them. Noah's they ain't (Cinnamon Bagel = 62 carbs!!), but I am on Atkins and SO grateful for such tasty bagel treat for only 2 net carbs per bagel!! Give them a try! I'm on here today to reorder them. YUM!!
Before I write the review, I just want to warn that I am used to foods like this. With that said, I love these. I have trouble feeling full, even with things like bran crackers, but these legitimately satisfy my hunger. I usually toast them, top it with yogurt and sprinkle some stevia and bam - delicious. The only downside is that they have a powdery/drying mouthfeel. I just ordered more and look forward to trying the plain and everything flavors.

I tried, I really tried, to eat these, but I could not even chew the bagel - the texture is like sawdust and the taste is the same. I am going back to a different bagel, which I think are delicious - and the taste is incomparable.
I don't know how they did it but these rolls are simply awesome. I was really skeptical about trying another low carb bread that would most likely get thrown away. I'm so glad I did and I actually prefer them to the regular onion rolls. They are like little onion baguettes in taste and texture. If you heat it up for a few minutes in the toaster oven, they get nice and crusty on the outside while warm and chewy (not sponge chewy, think baguette chewy) on the inside.
They are not big, maybe a bit bigger than a dinner roll but I was actually surprised at how filling one was when I made a country ham sandwich (warm crusty roll, butter, ham and lettuce) which I didn't think I would ever be able to enjoy again. My only real gripe, other than the price tag, would be them being called a pocket. When one thinks of a pocket they think pita. These are more like dinner rolls than a pocket.
Just received these (Onion Pockets) this week, and had one today. I wouldn't call them "pockets," they are more like a mini hoagie roll. There are six 2 oz. rolls per bag, for $7.99; and have 2 net carbs per roll. Seems a little expensive, but trust me, these are the best low-carb rolls I have ever eaten. Most other low-carb bread products are either very crumbly and fall apart while eating, or very chewy like eating a sponge. These have a great texture and mouth feel--almost like the real thing. They have a slight onion flavor, but not over-powering. I would highly recommend these for any low-carber who is tired of searching for a suitable bread substitute...your search has ended!
I will comment back if I notice any detrimental effect on my blood sugar, or continued weight loss. I also purchased the plain and sesame bread, and the multigrain and plain bagels, and will post a review after trying each of them. I'm looking forward to it.
I love these. I especially like using these for pulled pork, tuna salad, or chicken salad sandwiches. Would work good for dinner rolls. Even good as hamburger buns. Scoop out the inside for more room for filling. No off flavors or aftertaste. Very good product.
I tried this tonight on the Onion Pockets: TO DIE FOR! It's like the real deal BUT with only 2 NC for 2 luscious pieces and with 14 grams FIBER! It's actually GOOD for you! Every bit as tasty as it sounds!
BLACK ANGUS STYLE CHEESY GARLIC BREAD
LC Onion Pockets, cut in halves
1/2 cup Butter, softened
1 cup Shredded Asiago cheese, you could try Parmesan
1 cup Shredded jack cheese
1/2-1 cup Mayonnaise
1 bunch Green onions, chopped
2 Cloves garlic, pureed (or a dash of garlic powder)
Split Onion Pockets into halves horizontally, using a sharp bread knife is best. Mix butter, cheeses, mayonnaise, green onions and garlic in bowl, blending well. Spread the cut side of bread halves with spread. Bake at 350 degrees for 7 minutes, then place under broiler about 3 minutes longer. Cut into slices and serve.
Best low-carb pizza crust I've ever had. A nice, sturdy base for sauce, cheese and light toppings. My pizza baked in about 10 minutes and I ate the whole darn thing all by myself. A quick and easy meal, very filling, and it definitely satisfied my craving. I'm diabetic and even eating the entire pizza didn't raise my blood sugar! I use Bella Vita low-carb pasta sauce (buy it here from Netrition) and it was just delicious.
Great texture, no bad flavor, though a little on the bland side. Next time we're adding butter and garlic salt to the outside edge to see how that works - but over-all the best low-carb crust we've ever had.
Good, but not great. It's too thick for me (about 1/4 inch). It could be half the thickness and be much, much better. Also the shape of the crust is a subtle dome that puffs up in the middle. This means all of the sauce, cheese and toppings slide to and off the edges burning on your pizza pan. I'd hate to see what would have happened if I hadn't used a pan! If they could do a crust that was thinner and flat, it would be fantastic.
