It's not overly sweet, just enough with a molasses undertone without the bitterness. In fact, I need to really be careful with this syrup because I could eat it by the spoonfuls straight from the bottle! The only thing that I don't like is that the consistency is very thick, caramel like and "stringy" that makes it harder to control portions. I mixed it with a brand of sugar free syrup to thin it out and also to stretch it as it is indeed costly. It doesn't taste as good now but that's a good thing for me. I will be buying this again.
