| These were a bit time-consuming to make, but I'm sure that is the case with all cinnamon rolls: you have to make the icing and the cinnamon filling, on top of rolling the entire confection and cutting it evenly--it's all pretty standard, so one shouldn't complain. It all was well worth it. The texture of the roll was a bit more crumbly and soft than regular cinnamon rolls--it doesn't really have a "sink-your-teeth-into-feel" but definitely a "buttery, melt-in-your-mouth-feel" however. The cinnamon filling was great, but the icing was a) not quite sweet enough (but not a problem if you have tons of erythritol around, which is what I added after discovering this) and b) was made primarily of butter and thus melted and sunk into the bun, lessening the intensity of the icing's taste, when heated it in the microwave. Overall though... If you are looking for a low carb substitute (and don't mind these minute imperfections) for an old, high carb favorite, this cinnamon bun mix is for you--you certainly won't be disappointed. Enjoy! |

| It tastes wonderful! Even reheated in the microwave for 10 seconds. It's hard to make, but well worth it. I just bought some more. Good with breakfast, especially when you are sick of bacon and eggs. (rated 4 due to the difficulty of making it, not the taste!) |

| These are pretty good. I added some Splenda to the cinnamon mixture because of others' suggestions. I will order again. Next time I will mix some Splenda with cinnamon and dust the outside of the buns too. Maybe crush up some walnuts for the center. |

| Ingredients: Cereal fiber, soy protein concentrate, unbleached white flour, dried egg whites, low glycemic monosaccharide, calcium acid phosphate, spices, bicarbonate of soda, sea salt, carob gum, guar gum, acacia gum, vegetable fiber, corn starch, sucralose (splenda), vanilla powder. |
|
| Recommended Use: You will need: 1 stick + 3 tablespoons for softened UNSALTED butter, 1/2 cup + 1-1/2 Tablespoons cream, 1 large egg, 1/4 cup+ 1 Tablespoon warm water. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Coat cookie sheet with non-stick cooking spray.
Step One: In small bowl, soften 4 Tablespoons butter and stir in contents of Bag #1 (cinnamon filling) and 1/4 cup warm water. Set aside.
Step Two: In medium sized bowl, soften (do not melt) 1/2 stick butter and add Bag #2 contents (dough mix), large egg, 1 Tablespoon warm water and 1/2 cup cream. Stir just until blended. Note: dough will be heavy- do not add additional water.
Coat completely with non- stick spray one side of two 18 inch long pieces of plastic wrap. Spoon dough into center of one piece of coated plastic wrap. Cover with remaining plastic wrap(coated side down) and gently press dough out (or use rolling pin) evenly to covert a 8 inch wide x 12 inch length rectangular surface area. Remove top piece of plastic wrap and spoon cinnamon filling (Bag 1) lightly and evenly over dough within 1/2 inch of the edges. Lift up the plastic wrap under the dough from the shorter 8inch side and gently roll dough over the filling (jelly roll fashion) to form a 8 inch long "log". With seam side down, cut into eight 1 inch wide pieces and place 2inches apart on coated cookie sheet.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Do not overbake, rolls will not brown and will be very soft in the center. Remove to cool.
For glaze: In small bowl, stir in Bag #3 (glaze mix) with 3 Tablespoons of softened butter and 1-1/2 Tablespoons cream. Spoon glaze onto COOLED rolls, or serve glaze on the side with warm rolls. Rolls freeze well for up to 2 months. |
