If you are on a low carb diet or are diabetic and want a chewable C, then this is the best product. It is made with xylitol, the good sugar alcohol. Xylitol is used to sweeten candy in many European countries since it inhibits bacterial growth. Because of that, I don't feel I have to brush my teeth after chewing these up.
I wish NOW would use stevia in this formulation rather than the 2nd ingredient listed sorbitol. But other than that, it is a great product.
My husband and I have been taking this product, daily, for over 5 years, with excellent results. Our Vitamin C levels, post gastric bypass surgery in 2005, have been within normal range thanks to the use of Now's C-500 chewable (orange flavored). Highly recommended!
