Pure white like fresh coconut, tastes like fresh coconut, and has fresh coconut fragrance
Enjoy this healthy fat with the creamy taste of the tropics. Why is it that baby
formulas often include coconut oil as an ingredient? Because coconut is one of the
most healthy super foods in the world. Ideal as a high-heat cooking oil, a healthy
substitute for shortening in baking, and a "better-than-butter" replacement on bread
and veggies.
Not all saturated fat is bad! Coconut oil is cholesterol- and trans fat-free
and rich in medium-chain "good fats" that doctors recommend. We suggest three
tablespoons of extra-virgin coconut oil a day. Taste the difference between Nutiva's
Extra-Virgin Organic Coconut Oil, with its light taste, pleasant aroma, and pure white
color, and industrialized coconut oil with its bland taste, faint aroma, and off-white color.
Coconut oil can also be used as a health and beauty product. It's great as a body
lotion, face cleanser, make-up remover, hair softener, and laxative. Keep one jar in
the kitchen and one jar in the bathroom.
** Fermentation involves heat, and calls for more than 10 hours
between chopping the coconut and pressing the oil, adversely affecting flavor.

Wonderful product for light pan frying and cooking. I also use it mixed with unscented moisturizing lotion and aloe vera on my skin and hair. Unlike seed oils (safflower, sunflower, etc.) this oil does not become rancid or get "sticky" after sitting unrefigerated, even for several months. Evidence shows that coconut oil stimulates thyroid function and has wonderful antimicrobial/antiviral properties. The antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal properties of the medium chain fatty acids found in coconut oil have been known to scientists since the 1960s. This is a quality product sold at a very reasonable price.
I have been using this for 3 months now and have experienced weight loss, clearer skin, and heightened energy among other great changes. I would recommend this as a food, cooking oil, and in replacement of skin care products.
My body loves cocout oil! It is so good for the thyroid too. I use coconut oil for my skin after a bath or shower and it keeps my skin baby soft. I put it in my children's hair for an oil treatment. For cooking, it is safe for medium and high temperature sauteeing and it tastes great on vegetables, breads, etc. It will be liquid at room temperature or hard when chilled. I use it regularly as intimate oil and rubs. I have also mixed it with acidophilus powder and formed a pinky-finger sized bullet...put it in the freezer on wax paper for a couple minutes and then inserted as a vaginal suppository that works perfectly at keeping females healthy or killing yeast infections...and with no harsh chemicals!
This product is great! People recommend it for weight loss and beautiful skin. I haven't noticed any weight loss yet but it does suppress my appetite. It is recommended people consume 3-4 Tablespoons daily for optimum results. Also, great price for the product.

I love the taste of Nutiva coconut oil in my coffee. I didn't think I would like it but it makes your coffee like a desert if you put sweetener in it. It keeps you feeling full and sometimes I'm not hungry for anything until lunch. I also use it in stir fry recipes.

How virgin coconut oil is processed is the key to optimizing its taste, texture,
color, and aroma. Within two hours of Nutiva's coconuts being chopped, the oil
is cold-pressed at below 104 degree's. Contrast this to 99 percent of the
coconut oil used today in cooking and body care: first the coconut is chopped
and left to dry in the sun for days, then the meat is scooped out and sent
thousands of miles to giant oil mills where the oxidizing coco meat is refined,
bleached, and or deodorized—and, ironically this product is often labeled as
"certified organic".
There is no comparison between Nutiva's raw, extra-virgin Organic Coconut
Oil, with its light taste, pleasant aroma, and pure white color, and
industrialized coconut oil, with its bland taste, faint aroma, and off-white
color. Please note any tiny brown spec or two at the bottom of Nutiva's Coconut
Oil is indigenous to extra-virgin coconut oil and is from the coconut fiber. Since
the 1960s, coconut oil has been mistakenly described as unhealthy. The
media reported on studies finding that tropical coconut oils were laden with
artery-clogging fats. What went unreported was the fact that the coconut oil
used in the studies was hydrogenated—not the virgin oil used for centuries as a
staple food. Coconut oil is about 50 percent lauric acid, a rare medium-chain fatty acid
found in mother's milk that supports healthy metabolism and is now being studied
for its anti-fungal, anti-viral, and anti-bacterial health-protecting
properties. Overall, coconut oil contains 92% saturated fats, and only 1%
Omega-6 the fat Americans get way too much of.
Please Note: Nutiva's Coconut oil is solid at room temperature and melts at
76°F. No refrigeration required.
