Oatmeal is a good source of low glycemic index carbs and gives me some sustaining energy during the workout. I wouldn't use this to replace a good breakfast after hitting the gym... but as a supplement to my diet, I definitely recommend it. The texture is a bit more grainy due to the oats, which may take a bit of getting used to. Like any other drink, the heavier oats may settle to the bottom if you let it sit too long. Taste is good... I love it in the morning when I don't have time for breakfast and I also use it as a snack during the day. It tastes great mixed with water, or (low fat 2%)milk. I love the fact that it contains a "true" complex carb, unlike Maltodextrin. I just wished ON would make this available in a larger size and also possibly offered more flavors. Mixed it with water the first time and found the taste to be a little bland. I started adding a little fruit (banana, strawberries) and even tried it with Ovaltine. Those little additions really made a difference. Maybe I was expecting a milkshake taste that I was used to in the BSN Syntha-6 product. When I finish with this order, I will be buying more.
