May 17, 2019Reviewer: A guest* I am diabetic and cannot find sugar free soft serve at any of the soft serve/custard stands. This is absolutely delicious! Creamy, no chemical aftertaste, it is absolutely delicious. I first ordered the neutral, but have just received my order of chocolate and look forward making that as well. The taste and texture are just like real soft serve! Yummy! This review is specific to Carbolite No Sugar Added Soft Serve Mix, Neutral
August 27, 2018Reviewer: KAREN in Florida* I have found that this is one of the best mixes to use for low carb/keto for ice cream. I love the taste but I do add some other ingredients to make it more of a "Protein ice cream". I use my Ninja to mix 1/2 cup of the mix (right now I have Creamy Peanut Butter) with 2 scoops of good protein powder. Two scoops equals about 1/2 to 3/4 a cup). I then add 2 cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk and 2 oz of neufchatel cream cheese. I mix it on the ninja and pour into the ice cream machine. The stuff comes out better than anything else I have ever tried. Smooth and creamy with just the right amount of sweetness.
August 06, 2018Reviewer: Jessica in Colorado* I did not realize these packs are for commercial sized hoppers. That being said, I had to improvise to make this in my small 2 qt ice cream mix. I am on a ketogenic diet, so I combined 2 cups heavy cream, 3 eggs, and 100 grams of the cookies and cream mix (it could use a little more in my opinion) in a stand mixer until the mix was well combined and just starting to froth.
I have a Cuisinart ICE-30R Pure Indulgence Frozen Yogurt Sorbet & Ice Cream Maker. I turned the machine on and poured the mixture in. It mixed for 30 minutes and it does not solidify very much- just thickens slightly and gets cold. After 30 minutes I put it in an ice cream container and froze it for around 3 hours (overnight is also fine), and it was nice and solid and tasted delicious.
These mixes have a protein powder type flavor (some are worse than others). I own the yellow cake batter, cookies and cream, and peanut butter. However, they are going to last me a long time at this rate so I'm pretty happy. So far I highly recommend the cookies and creme and peanut butter. The yellow cake batter is decent but is stronger in that protein powder taste. This review is specific to Carbolite No Sugar Added Soft Serve Mix, Cookies N Creme
